Zen and the Art of Internet Spaceship Maintenance

I regularly keep an eye on various nerd websites. While checking out Den Of Geek I ran across this review. As a result later that evening I began watching Moon and I have to say that DOG’s review was spot on. For me the movie invoked both 2001: A Space Odyssey as mentioned in the review but I also felt a bit of influence from Dark Star. The sense of resigned loneliness combined with the fact that this film is largely if not entirely free of the all too ubiquitous CGI gave me the feeling that I was watching an excellent 70’s SciFi movie that I had until now somehow missed. The excellent acting, wonderful model use and original story combined to make this probably the best SciFi flick I have seen in several years. We can only hope some of the big wigs in Hollywood take the time to see this and remember that not everything needs to be a prequel, remake of a 70’s TV show or unnecessary re-imagining of one of our beloved classics.

Do yourself a favor and set aside a movie night for this one.

You wont be disappointed.
